This Vrat is performed by newly married women for the first 5 years on every Tuesday during Shravan. Generally Hindu female (Unmarried or Married) both performs fasting on this day to please Lord Shiva & Goddess Parvati. Not only married female but young girls also perform this Vrat, to get a loving & caring husband like lord Shiva.
In order to get blessings from Lord Vishnu, Satyanarayan Puja is performed in the end.
Goddess Parvati considered as the significance of power & idol of happy married life, to gain the same in life married & unmarried female performs this Vrat.
